Grenada and Belize Erosion Hazard Mapping

Projects » Grenada and Belize Erosion Hazard Mapping

PROJECT DETAILS

Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency (CDERA) commissioned CEAC, under a Caribbean Development Bank project, to prepare coastal erosion hazard maps for Belize (BZE) and Grenada (GRN) to complete national HM policies. Bathymetric, topographic and lithological data and samples were collected for over twenty beaches around the islands and GIS maps of the islands with the coastal hazards were produced. 100-year Hurricane wave conditions were modelled and the resulting erosion for both hurricane and Long Term Global Sea level rise was estimated for mapping.
