The Marcus Garvey Drive (MGD) thoroughfare has experienced frequent flooding in the vicinity of the Tinson Pen Aerodrome. CEAC was commissioned to execute a comprehensive storm water drainage and flood control plan addressing the recurring flooding problem in the MGD area. Existing flood control and drainage works were assessed using current and predicted rainfall events to determine the causes of flooding and recommend improvements to minimize flooding in the project area. This project culminated into a comprehensive flood control plan inclusive of improvement to main drainage channels, street level drainage in addition to culvert crossings and bridge crossings, to be used as road map to reduce flooding in one of the core industrial hubs in Jamaica.
