ODPEM (Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management), as a part of their mandate to assist communities with disaster readiness, contracted the services of CEAC Solutions to prepare storm surge hazard reports for Falmouth. Wave height and wind speed extremal analysis was undertaken for the surrounding waters of the Falmouth Pier. A rigorous sensitivity analysis of storm surge for various combinations of wind speeds and wave height and directions were investigated. Storm surge predictions for 10, 25, 50 and 100 Year return periods with, Global Sea Level Rise, tidal, Inverse Barometric Pressure, wind set up and wave set up components were considered. The predictions were compared to the topographic data for the site to determine areas of risk.
